Jay was a son, brother, husband, and father.
To know Jay was to love Jay. He never met a stranger, and loved to teach and coach. A lifelong sports fan but a diehard New York Mets fanatic.
Jay was a history teacher at South Cobb High School. He coached hundreds of children at the Kennesaw Baseball Association. To his players, students, and friends he leaves a legacy of smiles, laughs, and a love for history.
He is survived by his wife Karen Lutz, sons George and Patrick, mother Virginia Lutz, brother Alexander Lutz Jr., sister-in-law Suzanne, nieces Kaitlyn and Megan, mother-in-law Patricia Colihan, and his German shepherd Axel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Lutz.
Visitation will be March 20, 2022 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 2950 Cobb Parkway N, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152 from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. A visitation will also occur Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey and Porrello Funeral Home, 100-18 159th Avenue, Howard Beach, NY. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 100-05 159th Avenue, Howard Beach, NY. A burial will occur at Saint Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.
