Mrs. Janice Kay Williams, age 78, of Kennesaw, went to be with Jesus April 15, 2013. She was originally from Tripp City, OH. Janice was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Christ Memorial Hospital in Cincinnati, OH, Houston County Hospital in Warner Robbins, GA and South Cobb Mental Health Clinic. Mrs. Williams most recently was teaching preschool, where she was pivotal in starting the preschool program, at County Line United Methodist Church, and operated “Just Like Grandma’s”, and antique store on the square in Marietta. She was a strong Christian and had touched many hearts through her work at Riverstone Church. Active in the Night of Healing Prayer, the Evangelism Program, the Lay Witness Program and the North Georgia Walk to Emmaus, where she served as Lay Director on the Women’s Walk #46 in October 1994.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tom Williams; son, Scott Allen Williams; daughter, Julie Lynn and her husband Mike Polachek; grandsons, Kevin and Brett Polachek; sister, Sharron Braun; nephews, Jeff and Vic Varvel, Todd and Shannon Varvel, Greg and Sarah Varvel.
Memorial services will be held Friday April 19 at 2 PM at Riverstone Church, 2005 Stilesboro Road, Kennesaw, GA 30152, with Pastor Terry Cantrell officiating. Mrs. Williams will be taken to Dayton, OH for interment at Dayton Memorial Park and Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday April 18 between the hours of 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152. 770-422-7299.
