Janice Abernathy Conine, age 74, of Kennesaw, passed away January 9, 2014. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Acworth for 63 years. She served as Sunday School Director, President of WMU, Vacation Bible School Director, Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed writing and sharing her poetry with family and friends.
Mrs. Conine was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Talmadge Abernathy. Survived by her son, Eddie Conine and his wife, Kim; daughter, Mary C. Muller and her husband, David; sisters, Brenda and Harold Owenby, Mary Jo Walker and Donnie Crowe, Beverly and Earl Lee, Becky and Vince Michael; step grandchildren, Katy Beth Trotter and J.D. Trotter; nephews, Joey Walker, Joshua Michael, Jonathan Michael, Jacob Michael; great nieces, JoLee and JonnieAnn Walker, Madeline Michael, Reagan, Cassidy and Payton Michael.
Funeral services will be held Sunday Jan. 12 at 2 Pm at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2385 Acworth Due West Rd NW, Acworth, GA 30101, with Rev. John Darnell, Dr. Scotty Davis and Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Peace Section of Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw. The family will receive friends between the hours of 4 PM until 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
