Herman was born to the late Blanche Staples Hoffman and Alvin F. Hoffman. Herman was born in Bellingham, Massachusetts and grew up in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
Herman graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1950 and then went on to attend Hill College until he was drafted into the military. After being honorably discharged, Herman married the love of his life, Lucille. They spent the next 66 years making a lifetime of memories with their family and friends.
Herman took pride in serving his country and was proud to be an American. Herman is an Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict.
Herman loved sports and was known to be an avid Celtics Fan. He was Boy Scout leader for many years as well as a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. He was an active member of the North Cobb Senior Center.
Herman had a passion for photography. He founded the North Cobb Photo Club that is still active today. He competed in photo contests and was always proud when his photo would win a ribbon. Later in years, he spent his time volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Dallas, Georgia.
Herman Hoffman is preceded in death by his parents, Blanche Staples Hoffman and Alvin F Hoffman; sister, Mary Elizabeth Hamilton; brother, August A. Hoffman.
Herman’s memory is cherished by his wife, Lucille Crisafulli Hoffman; children, Deborah Ann Hoffman (John F. Ward), David Wayne (Kathy) Hoffman, Nancy Jane Hoffman; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Alberg, Sarah Marion (Matthew) Hitchcock; great-grandson, Grady Michael Hitchcock
The Hoffman family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:00 PM in the Chapel at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Deacon Jim McDermott of St. Catherine Catholic Church officiating.
