As a young child Helena was raised at the House of Good Shepherd Orphanage in Philadelphia PA. While in her teens she thought of becoming a Nun when by chance she met her future husband, Joseph Wilkinson. They were married for 58 years.
Helena truly loved her family, friends and her Catholic faith. She was an avid gardener, loved nature, loved to tell stories of her life, always had a smile on her face and a hug to give. She never met a stranger. She never saw the color of your skin but rather the contents of your heart. In later life, Helena was a compassionate protector for the welfare of animals, passing this philosophy onto her children and grandchildren.
Helena was a founding member of St Catherine of Siena Columbiettes Auxiliary 9923, in Kennesaw Georgia, where she was a regular parishioner at St. Catherine's.
Helena is survived by her son, Kenneth James Wilkinson, daughters Robbin Lee Brindle and Lindia Diane Hoops; grandsons George W. Hoops II and William A. Brindle III and granddaughter Helena C. Geraci; and great grandchildren Samantha, Helena, Sarah, Jackson and Nicholas.
Helena was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph P Wilkinson; son Joseph P. Wilkinson Jr; son-in-laws William Brindle Jr and George Hoops; parents Howard and Helen Anderson.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made at MostlyMutts.org in Helena's name. Mostly Mutts is a local animal rescue located in Kennesaw Georgia.
