Mrs. Helen Louise Chandler, age 90, of Kennesaw, passed away February 7, 2014. She was born in Decatur, GA the daughter of Benjamin O. and Lavora Basket Parker. She was blessed with 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She attended DeKalb Co. Schools and in 1940 at the age of 17 she served in the National Youth Administration, NYA. In 1942 Helen met and married Grady Thomas Chandler and was married 49 years until his death in 1991. She is also preceded in death by son, Emory Chandler.
Survived by her daughters, Diane Sanders, Judy Brazel; son, Steve Chandler; sister, Margaret Adams; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday Feb. 10 at 12:30 PM in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 until 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
