Born in Hickory NC, to Charles and Mozelle Turner.
With his brother, he founded a masonry company, pouring his time, energy, and sweat into building something meaningful, brick by brick, owner of B&M Masonry in Marietta, Georgia and Tampa Florida. He was known as Papaw by his grandchildren that were a big part of his life. He was a man defined by pride, resilience, and an unshakeable sense of purpose. He loved being involved with family activities, he built not only walls and foundations but also a family rooted in love, discipline, and togetherness. Mike believed that being present was everything, whether it was cheering at sporting events, standing proudly at graduations, or attending any family event, he was always there. For over two decades, he poured his heart into coaching, impacting the lives of countless young men. His guidance on the field went beyond sports—he shaped character, work ethic, and values that left a lasting mark. He was a Carolina Tar Heels Fan and enjoyed family flat track racing activities. Mike lived a life that mattered. He built a business, a family, and a community—and he showed up for all of them with unwavering love and commitment. He will be missed by many. When you visit the beach, listen to Country or Motown music remember Mike or Papaw.
