He was born to George and Rita Tyson on October 23, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York.
Mr. Tyson worked as an auditor for the German Lighting Warehouse company, Hera Lighting. He enjoyed playing pool and building model ships and boats. He also had a love for travel and had been to an extensive number of countries including Vietnam, China, Japan, Phillipines, Spain, and Italy.
Mr. Tyson had also served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a decorated Veteran and had received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Star, and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Mr. Tyson is preceded in death by his father, George James Tyson. He is survived by his mother, Rita Brown Tyson of Titusville, Florida; son, Alexander Tyson and his wife, Hop Pham, of Kennesaw, Georgia; brother, Donald Tyson and his wife, Pauline, of Jupiter, Florida; niece, Christina and her husband, Christopher Denny, of Canton, Georgia; and nephew, Paul Tyson of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mr. Tyson's memory will also be cherished by his grandchild on the way.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. For those who wish to attend, please plan on arriving between 1:00 - 1:15 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery. Inurnment will follow.
