Gary Gene West

Gary Gene West, age 93, of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. He was born in Denver, Colorado to the late Richard and Beulah West. Gary served his country proudly in the Navy for 26 years. He had an impeccable sense of humor and respect of others. Gary enjoyed dancing, being at the lake, and genealogy. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed creating memorable meals on his grill. Gary was a world traveler, every place he went to was a new experience and he enjoyed every minute of seeing new sites. Most of all Gary loved his family, and he wanted to be with them as often as he could. Gary was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Gary is survived by his wife of seven years, Lorena West, his son Richard West, his daughters; Dyan West Webb and Carolyn Jean Devore, and six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his first wife Jewell Billingsley West, son William David West and his brother Richard Straud West.

A visitation for Gary will be held Monday, January 9, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 6301 Cedarcrest Rd, Acworth, Georgia 30101. A burial will occur Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Georgia Memorial Park, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30067.
