Gary W Slattery

Gary is survived by his mother, Janet Irene Rons of Remus, MI. Gary grew up the oldest of five. Siblings include Larry Wood of Jackson, MI, Theresa (Victoria Meyer) Wood of Spring Hill, FL, Ronald (LeeAnn) Wood of Tampa, FL, and Wendi (Nicholas) Bovear of Saginaw, MI. He had one nephew, Brandon (McKenzie) Carr of Saginaw, MI and one great nephew, Greyson Carr.

Gary attended East Jackson High School in Jackson, MI.

Gary was lucky enough to have a special Aunt, Linda (Raymond) Dull. He always enjoyed their visits when he came home for vacation. Gary also had four uncles and several cousins.

Gary worked for Gentiva Health Services in Atlanta, GA for 22 years. Gary enjoyed working in the yard, cooking and baking for his beloved friends and family. He was particularly skillful in projects around the house. From painting, redecorating, to building and refinishing. There wasn’t anything that he was afraid to tackle when he got it in his mind that he wanted it done. He had a special eye for color and always made everything he touched look beautiful.

Gary enjoyed his life. He would want to thank some of those that made that possible. Topping the list is his Partner, Jai Sproulls, and his very special friends, Michael Hill and Dominique Louisius with whom he shared a beautiful home with. Also his fur buddy, Alex who misses him so.

Gary was thankful for all of his special friends who are too many to list. From his classmates to his colleagues, to the friends he met along the way. Gary holds a special place in our hearts. He was kind, generous and thoughtful to all those he held dearest. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. He will forever be missed.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Losey and Helen Losey, his father William Wallace Wood and his very special fur buddies, Shelby and Pepper.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Gary W. Slattery will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A reception will follow the memorial services at the 1890 Farmhouse of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
