Mrs. Frankie Ernestine Jenkins, of Decatur Ga., passed away peacefully on February 15, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on December 13, 1931 in Dahlonega, Ga. to the late Loy Frank and Mamie Ferguson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dahlonega. After graduating from Lumpkin County High School in 1949 she moved to Atlanta where she worked in the Insurance and Food Service industries. She enjoyed traveling and following Atlanta Braves Baseball and spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors and was a member of Glen Haven United Methodist Church.
She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James Jenkins. Born one of eight children, she is also proceeded in death by her sisters Ida Lou Tritt, Jean Mahan and brothers Loy Carlton Ferguson and Wayne Ferguson.
Surviving are her two loving sons James P. Jenkins and his wife Cathy of Marietta, Ga. and Gary Jenkins of Decatur, Ga. two grandchildren Linda and Patrick Jenkins and his wife Shannon. Also surviving is her sister Beverly Ingram of Dahlonega, brothers Joe and Elaine Ferguson of Toccoa and Jack Ferguson of Dawsonville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to express its gratitude to the staff of Roselane Health and Rehab Center in Marietta for the wonderful care they provided to her in the past three years.
Funeral Services will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday February 20th at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the services. Graveside burial will follow at the cemetery at the same location.
