She was born to Charlie and Josie Wallace and grew up in Douglasville, GA. Erma enjoyed working in her yard, bird watching, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite trips were to the casino in Cherokee, NC with her daughters and granddaughter. Erma was a 1954 graduate of Douglas County High School before working for Rich’s, Colonial Insurance, Goodyear, Ben Meadows and becoming a stay-at-home mother to her daughters and godson.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband Tom Tippett, parents, Charlie and Josie Wallace, and two brothers, Bobby (Carolyn) Wallace and Larry Wallace. She is survived by daughters, Leslie (Wayne) Cromer, Stacey (Jeff) Schuitema, godson Rob (Courtney) Jacobs, four grandchildren Amy Cromer, Megan Schuitema (Adam Gresham), Kevin (Jessica) Cromer, Jon Schuitema, one great-granddaughter Riley Cromer, one brother James (Judy) Wallace, several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was cared for by close neighbors Hazel Camp and Patsy Money.
Visitation is Saturday, January 13th from 4-6PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service is Sunday, January 14th at 3PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. The family will also receive visitors briefly from 2-3PM prior to the Celebration of Life Service.
In lieu of flowers, Erma requested for donations to be made in her memory to Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities.
