Mrs. Edna Daphne Williams passed away on Thursday February 29th 2024, born in north Layton, County of Essex, England, to William Frederick and Hilda Isabel Belverstone on July 18, 1931, the 7th of 12 children. Mrs. Williams grew up during WWII, lost her mother at a young age, and helped raise her younger siblings. Mrs Williams met her husband of 60 years, James Warner Williams, when he was stationed in England serving in the American Air Force during the Korean War. They were married in 1953 and moved to the United States in 1954 after the birth of their first child. Edna became an American citizen in July of 1962.
Mrs. Williams worked in numerous physicians’ offices, sometimes as an assistant and transcription expert. Her dream was to become a nurse but her health interrupted her pursuit. Mrs Williams enjoyed gardening, Sudoku, Wii bowling, playing cards and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a long time member of St. Teresa’s Episcopal Church in Acworth, as well as, a member of the Daughter’s of the British Empire and British-American Lions and Eagles Club.
Surviving family: Sister, Beryl Lawson (Bryan). Three children, Sharon Williams Tumlin; Tracy Leah Ehster (Ron); Scott Williams (Jen); Three grandchildren, Justin James Ehster (Angela); Brittany Leah Hubbard (Patrick); Devan Leigh Jordan; Nine Great grandchildren, Gabriella Serna; Noah James Ehster; Alyssa Kate Hubbard; Rylan Scott Hubbard; Adelynn Grace Hubbard; Ansley Isabel Hubbard; Avery Isla Jordan; McKenna Leigh Jordan; Emilia Rose Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews in England.
