Donald ‘Don’ Malory Parker (81) reluctantly left his family and this world on 15 April 2025. A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Duane Parker officiating at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA. A Visitation for family and friends to gather will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 between the hours of 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Don will be laid to rest following the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
Born and raised on a farm in the low country of South Carolina, Don loved to fish, and would do it whenever he could. He also enjoyed spending time with family, eating some good country cooking, playing cards, hunting and playing golf. He loved the farm but was anxious to see what else there was so he joined the Navy. He spent his time “playing with ordnance”. His stories from his Navy days have entertained us all. After his 4 years of service, he left the Navy and went into the furniture industry, where he would spend most of his life. Starting at the bottom, he worked his way up the corporate ladder. He moved his family around far more than they would have moved in the Navy but managed to stay in the Southeast. He also became a decent golf player, knowing many business deals were made on a fairway.
Whether it was his wife and children, his siblings or his Mama, family meant the world to Don and he strived to do all he could for them. His life, and life with him wasn’t always an easy one, but he would work long hours and sometimes jobs he didn’t want to ensure his loved ones had an easier life than he did. Those that knew him well would say he accomplished that goal in spades.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carlton and Mable (Coker) Parker; sister, Ethel Mae Miller and her husband Otto; nephews, Jonathan Miller and Ryan Parker; brother-in-law Lindbergh Spring. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Juanita (McKenzie); children, D. Michael Parker (Belynda), Stephen C. Parker (Tammy) and Donna E. Lowe (Bradley) as well as his siblings; Carlton (Jean), Annette (Lindbergh), Judy, Bobby, William ‘Bill’ (Audrey), Lloyd, Al (Carrie), Connie (Dennis), and Tammy (John), grandchildren; Robert, Karen (Jason), Stevin (Jasmine), Addam, Clark (Krystal) and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Reanne (Garrett), Joseph, Nathan, Briggs and Gabriel; nieces, nephews and countless other family members.
He has touched many lives on his walk through this life and was well respected and loved. He will forever be remembered and missed.
