Derek Kirk McWhorter

Derek Kirk McWhorter, age 28, of Hiram, Georgia passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2019. Derek was born August 16, 1991. He was a loving son, grandson, brother and friend. Derek loved music and playing the guitar, he was an artist, enjoyed the ocean, and wanted to be a professional photographer. He liked every one, and will be loved and missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon Hamby and her husband Bill, father, Darren McWhorter and stepmother Krysia, grandmother, Lorine Smith, 2 brothers, Dalton Hamby, Miles Courrier, 3 sisters, Laura Hett and husband Mike, Brittany Higgins and husband Matt, Marissa Wider and husband Ty, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by grandfathers, Bobby Lee McWhorter, Eddie Smith, grandmothers,Grace and Martha McWhorter.

Visitation for Derek will be Sunday October 13, 2019 4:30pm until 8:30pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Monday October 14, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
