Denette moved to Cartersville as a young adult, where she married the love of her life, the late Don Perry. The marriage was blessed with two children, Scott and Wier. Denette and Don loved each other and enjoyed sharing precious moments and adventures together.
An avid traveler and a lover of music, Denette traveled to fifty countries, was active in her church, a longtime member of the choir, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
A wonderful cook and baker, Denette was well known for her cakes, which were often requested by those who knew her. Cooking was a specialty, as she loved feeding family and friends. Her chicken casserole was legendary, especially to her granddaughters.
Denette had a knack for connecting with people and she touched many lives. She was known for being a kind, loving, and supportive person. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
Along with her parents, Denette is preceded in death by her husband, Don Perry and her son Scott Perry. She is survived by one sister: Jan Surles, of Pensacola, Florida: one loving child: son, Wier Perry (Margaret), of Kennesaw, Georgia; 3 grandchildren; and a multitude of friends.
The visitation for Denette Perry will take place Friday, July 5, 2024, from six to nine o’ clock in the evening at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. On Saturday, July 6, 2024, visitation and refreshments will take place from eleven to one o’clock in the afternoon. The funeral service to honor the life of Denette Perry will begin promptly at one o’ clock in the afternoon following the visitation. A processional after the service will travel to the graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville.
