David was born November 12, 1961, in Huntsville, Al. David was a true outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and even doing yard work. He was a lifelong fan of old rock and roll, a die-hard University of Georgia football supporter, and always up for a good adventure—especially when it meant traveling with those he loved.
Known for his larger-than-life personality, David had a special way of showing affection to his children—mainly by aggravating them. A natural prankster, he was always ready with a fib or tall tale just to see who he could convince. The kids adored him, unless they were in trouble—then he was known affectionately (and sometimes fearfully) as “the Gorilla.”
To his family, David was many things: the protector, the prankster, the fixer of all things, the steady and reasonable one… and sometimes, the unreasonable one too, depending on who you asked. But above all, he was a safe place. A man who stood strong for those he loved, and who gave of himself without hesitation.
David is survived by his wife of 25 years, Paige Taylor; his children David Jr., Drew (Sarah), Krystle, Daniel (Ashley), and Maddison; and his grandchildren Noah, Hannah, Tristan, Ashton, Emily, and Sophia. He also leaves behind his siblings Kathy, Ronnie, and Mark, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Trinity Hospice Care of Georgia for their compassion and care during David’s final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 2950 Cobb Pkwy N, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, with a service beginning at 2:00 PM.
