Cathy Cash Dickerson

Violet Kathleen (Cathy) Cash Dickerson passed at her home on October 20, 2021. She was 75 years old but, wanted it known, she didn’t look a day over 60 and her nails were meticulous. She is survived by her daughter Cassandra Dickerson Brown and Rhonda Cash Dickerson. Grandchildren include Aaron, Lauren and Lindsay. Great grandchildren are Jameson, David, Ryan and Riley. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Harper and Chris Cash, her aunt Janelle Gilman and numerous Gilman and Cash cousins. She is predeceased by her mother Frances Gilman Cash White and father Alfred F. Cash.

Cathy was born January 2, 1946 in Atlanta and grew up in Smyrna, GA. She graduated from Campbell High School in 1964, worked for IBM for many years and retired from there. She loved her shag club, her high school buddies, playing cards with friends and Elvis Presley, golf and especially Tiger Woods not necessarily in that order. She was a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves and the UGA Bulldogs and rarely missed a televised game,. Her favorite place to vacation was Myrtle Beach, SC and to dance until the sun came up over the Atlantic.

Most of all, she loved her children and her grands. She was a devoted daughter to both of her parents and was always there to care for both.

Her sisters begrudgingly agree that Cathy was the most beautiful of the three and also the funniest. She could make you laugh without even trying; in fact, she seldom tried-it just happened. Blessed with a rare combination of sarcastic wit and stunning beauty, she always took center stage whether with friends or with family.

In her honor and to celebrate a life fully lived, an informal gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 1 at Winkenhofer Funeral Home at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Kennesaw, GA from 12:30-2:00. After the gathering, all are welcome to go to the site where Cathy will be laid to rest with her mother.
