Born on July 26, 1943, in Maxton, NC, Carolyn was raised in High Point, NC. However, it was in Kennesaw, GA, where she made her true home alongside her beloved husband, Ron, of 57 years and where she raised her three children.
Carolyn attended Brenau College as a music major in Gainesville, GA, and later embarked on a career in the advertising industry, working in New York City for an ad agency. During her time in Kennesaw, Carolyn made significant contributions to the community. She worked at Choice Properties, helping individuals and families find their ideal homes. Additionally, she played a vital role in the Big Shanty Civil War Museum, educating others about the area's Civil War history. Carolyn's dedication and impact in both her professional and community endeavors will be remembered and appreciated by all.
Beyond her professional achievements, Carolyn possessed extraordinary artistic talents. Her beautiful voice captivated all who heard it, and she even auditioned for Max Steiner. As a skilled pianist, she shared her love for music by teaching piano lessons in the comfort of her own home, nurturing the talents of aspiring musicians.
While Carolyn excelled in various areas, her true joy and the source of her inner strength came from her faith in and relationship with Jesus Christ, her unwavering love for her husband, and her deep devotion to her family. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.
Carolyn's love for her husband was evident in their enduring marriage, a testament to the power of commitment and love. They fought tirelessly for their marriage, overcoming challenges and cherishing their commitment to each other. They embraced life to the fullest, creating beautiful memories filled with adventure and joy, including traveling to all 50 states, creating a tapestry of experiences and stories that they carried throughout their years together. Their journey was a testament to their love and the remarkable bond they shared.
As a mother, she poured her heart and soul into raising her 3 children, and for a short time her two oldest grandchildren, providing them with a nurturing environment filled with love, support, and encouragement. She extended that same nurturing and loving nature to her role as grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend. Her dedication and unwavering love was a testament to her selflessness and boundless love for her family, friends and her love for Jesus.
