Brenda led a simple life. She attended Osborne High School and remained within the Cobb county area throughout her life. In 1963, she met a man by the name of Johnnie Hawkins and on January 21, 1964 they married. They spent fifty-four loving years together before her passing. She worked as a bookkeeper for area car dealerships. She was the foundation of her family, mentoring their children as they became adults. Brenda was the apple of her husband’s eye and the love of his life. Her life was centered around spending quality time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Hawkins Sr.; mother, Frances Dye; daughter, Rhonda Schroeder; son, John Hawkins Jr.; brother, Jim Dye; sister, Cheryl Roper; grandchildren, Zack Schroeder and Kayla Lindke; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Hawkins will be Sunday, November 4, 2018 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge in Kennesaw. Family will welcome friends for visitation on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 from five to eight in the evening and on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 at noon. Eddie Goodwin will be officiating her service. She will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery following the service.
