Bobby led an incredible life. He was born and raised in Acworth and Marietta, Georgia. At a very young age, he had to grow up fairly quickly and helped raise his siblings. He was the oldest of eight children and helped care for each of them. Some would describe Bobby as the patriarch of the family. Bobby started working in his teen years at Big Apple and began his lifelong dedication to his work in the grocery industry. Before his retirement, Bobby served as president of Rockdale Grocery and held a position on the board of directors for Piggly Wiggly.
On July 28, 1963 he married Shirley Williams and they remained married for the next forty-eight years before her passing in 2011. Throughout his life, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, playing golf, water skiing, spending time with his son hunting, and caring for his children and grandchildren. Bobby was also quite adventurous and enjoyed traveling around the world and going on cruises. He had an amazing smile and never met a stranger.
