Betty Joyce Derickson

Betty Joyce Derickson, age 93, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. She was born in Jackson, Kentucky, to the late Nathan and Carolyn Taulbee. Her and her husband, John, moved to Dayton, Ohio early in their marriage. They raised their family there until 1980 when they moved to Seminole, Florida, to retire. They spent many years there with family and friends. They went to church at Indian Rocks Baptist and Seminole Baptist. In her last years, she lived in independent living in Marietta. Betty was an amazing cook and gardener. She loved to read and spent many hours in the library where she lived. She enjoyed playing games with her family and friends. She loved her family and always wanted to be with them, but most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ. We are so happy that she is now with Him. She was an amazing daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Betty will be missed by all that knew her.

Betty is survived by her sons Wayne Conrad Derickson (Denise); and Douglas Derickson; her daughters Anita Derickson; and Jill Rench (Daryl); her grandchildren, Douglas Derickson II, Melissa Derickson, Amy Johnson (Scott), Christy Derickson, Eric Rench (Misty), Lauren Rench, Rashad Price, Aziah Price, and Letticia Price. Her great-grandchildren are: Jacob, Maevery, Luke, Kinley, Eliana, Addalyn, Titus, Leilani, Sylas, Sadie, Kaiden, Analise, and Kamon.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband John Derickson and her grandchild, Jaime Holp.
