Betty Campbell was Promoted to Glory on January 17, 2016. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald Campbell and her brothers Eli and John Williford. She is survived by her sister Edna Brazzell and brothers William (Juanita) and Arnold Williford. She is also survived by her daughters Ruth Wingfield, Barbara Brown Warren (John) eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty Campbell was born and reared in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She entered the School for Officer’s Training for The Salvation Army in 1946 and was commissioned in the Warrior’s Session in 1947. In October 1949, she married Donald Campbell. For the next 24 years, they served God through their ministry in The Salvation Army. Their appointments took them to Charleston, WV; Stanton, VA; Richmond, VA; Danville, VA; Lynchburg, VA; Bluefield, WV; Portsmouth, VA; and Waynesboro, VA. Following her beloved Donald’s Promotion to Glory in Waynesboro in 1974, Betty continued the ministry of The Salvation Army at The School for Officer’s Training in Atlanta. She remained in this appointment until her retirement in 1992. After her retirement, Betty continued her Christian ministry by providing Bible correspondence lessons to prison inmates. Later, she attended McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church with her daughter and became involved with their weekly prayer shawl knitting group, the Nat Long Sunday School class and the Senior Citizens Group.

Betty’s kind and generous nature touched the lives of all who met her. She was definitely an angel and servant for God. We thank God for her life!
