Barbara Jean Rucker

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we say goodbye to Barbara J. Rucker who left us peacefully on December 22, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on August 31, 1935, Barbara lived a life full of kindness, joy, and a deep love for those around her.

Barbara worked as an oral surgeon’s assistant for over 20 years, dedicating herself to the care of others and building lasting connections with those she worked alongside. She retired with a legacy of service and warmth, having touched the lives of countless individuals during her career.

A collector of angels, Barbara found joy in their beauty, and her home was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She cherished her trips to Florida and spent many happy hours on the beach, where the sun, sand, and sea brought her peace. Above all, Barbara was a caretaker—always putting the needs of others before her own, offering love, support, and a listening ear to family, friends, and even strangers in need.

Barbara’s greatest joy was her family. She loved them deeply, and her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was one she cherished with all her heart. Her love and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Rickie Ayers & wife Karen, and Danny Rucker & wife Lisa; grandsons, Justin Rucker, and Jospeh Chastain; great-grandchildren, Ryland Williams, Madison Rucker, Thomas Rucker, Mya Tilton, Harliegh Brown, Aubrey Schultz, Mckenzie Shultz, and Zack Rucker. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Rucker; daughter, Pamela Chastain, and grandson, Thomas Jake Chastain and parents, Earl and Mona Swanson.

Visitation for Barabara will begin at 11:00 AM and end 1:00 PM. Funeral service will begin following visitation at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home at 2950 N. Cobb Pkwy. Kennesaw, GA 30152.

Though she is no longer with us, Barbara’s legacy of love, care, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Barbara, your angels are now gathering you in their embrace.
