Donald "Chris" "Captain" Christensen

Donald E. Christensen passed away peacefully at his home in Lacombe, LA on the morning of March 31, 2017. Donald was born on December 27, 1939 in Lincoln, NE. "Chris" was united in marriage to Brenda Ann Simoneaux of Napoleonville, LA on August 4, 1962. Chris proudly served in the US Marines, was a Thoroughbred horse trainer by trade, an avid coon hunter, and later in life, "Captain" was employed and retired as the manager of the East Texas division of Frac Lights and Equipment, Inc. Chris was known for his wonderful sense of humor and had an immense love for animals. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a loyal friend. He will be deeply missed and will live forever in our hearts. Chris is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years Brenda aka his "Angel Ann" - his four children: Carrie Murray (Bryan), Gregory Christensen (Sheila Delatte), Melanie Badon (Lynn Yaney), and Susan Osoria (William) - granddaughters: Kelli Melton (Terence Harveston), Savannah Badon and Samantha Badon - brothers: Lyle Christensen (Sylvia) of Columbus NE, Robert Lee Christensen (Jessica) of Alcoa TN, and Kendall Christensen (Linda) of Columbus NE - sisters JoAnne Landenberger of Aurora NE, and Lois Maly of Lincoln NE - and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Parents: Ernest and Myrna Carrie Christensen, Sisters: Fern Olander, Ramona Hoegerl, and Norma Henrickson, Brothers: Kenneth Christensen, and Ernest Christensen Jr. and Daughter-In-Law: Grace Christensen. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday - May 6th 2017 at Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church - 61030 Brier Lake Drive in Lacombe, LA. Visitation will begin at 9am until service time at 10am. The family request in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to your local SPCA / Humane Society.
