Benjamin Hatfield passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He died, after a brief illness, on August 22, 2018, two days before his 72nd birthday. He was born in Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Indiana University and Tulane Law School. He worked for New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation from 1967-1992 and taught at the Tulane Law Clinic prior to Hurricane Katrina. He was fluent in French, a great storyteller, and loved traveling, cooking New Orleans cuisine, and listening to classical music. He is survived by his wife, Pamela, and two daughters, Sophie Gallo and Isabelle Hatfield, brother, Stephen (wife Amy) of Minneapolis, MN, niece, Elizabeth, nephew Nathan, and sister Nancy Hamilton (husband Gar) of Toronto, Ontario. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Neptune Society of New Orleans.
