Steven was born on April 11, 1954 in Brookville, PA and grew up in Oil City, PA. He was the son of the late Tom and Ellie Clark, husband of Diane, father of Ian and Sam, brother of Marilyn (Deke), Sharon (Doug), and Janet. Steve was a 2nd generation mechanical engineer, attending Bucknell University for his Bachelors degree. He later got an MBA from the University at Buffalo, going to school at night while he was working. During his time at Bucknell he participated in a variety of sports including rugby, football, and broomball (against the inmates at the local prison). He ended up with a number of lifelong friends from his time there. After college he joined Praxair and worked in many different capacities over 38 years. In his off time, he enjoyed boating, traveling, camping and fishing. A well traveled man, he visited all 50 states and at least 15 different countries. He was a dedicated husband, married to his wife Diane for nearly 37 years. In his retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed fishing, pickleball, and trips to Europe. He was an audiophile that loved the blues. We have loads of great memories. Him flying to North Carolina to split the drive back up with Sam with two yowling cats in the car during holidays. Restoring a cedar strip boat with Ian that they drove around the river. He is remembered fondly by many and will be missed greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9, 2023 at 2 PM by the water's edge at 4548 East River Road Grand Island, NY. Steve was an avid boater and advocate for protecting the waters in this area so please consider a donation in lieu of flowers to the Buffalo Niagara Waterkeepers or to the SPCA. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.DenglerRobertsPernaKenmore.com for the Clark family.
