Patricia K. Leonard, age 79, wife of the late Francis G. Leonard, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family in the morning of July 24, 2022. Patricia was born in Buffalo, NY and attended St. John the Baptist School and St. Mary’s Seminary. After graduating high school in 1960, Patricia spent a year working and studying in Germany while living with family. Upon returning to the States, she attended Georgetown University where she met her future husband. They married in 1964 and lived in New York City and Boston, MA before moving back to Buffalo in 1969. While raising four children, Patricia attended and graduated from Medaille College and later Canisius College where in 1987 she earned a Masters in Science in Education Reading. Patricia taught at St. John the Baptist School from 1983 to 1987 and then at St. Christopher’s School from 1987 to 2001, serving as a Kindergarten teacher and then as an Assistant Principal. Patricia spent most of her life residing in the Town of Tonawanda and enjoyed her summers in Silver Bay, Ontario. Patricia was a long-time member of the Saturn Club, the Buffalo Canoe Club, and the Garrett Club. In 2010 Patricia became a resident of South Carolina and spent the winter months at her home in Sea Pines Plantation, Hilton Head Island. Patricia enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and playing cards and Mahjong with friends. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church. Above all, Patricia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her daughters Kimberly (William) Mulford and Laura (Lawrence) Knapp; her sons, William and Peter (Shannon); her beloved grandchildren, Emma, Lucy, Christopher, Trip, Sarah, Caroline, Ellie and Hadley. She is also survived by her brother William (Maureen) Kirschhofer and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit DENGLER, ROBERTS, PERNA FUNERAL HOME, 3070 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, on Thursday (July 28, 2022) from 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Tonawanda, on Friday (July 29, 2022) at 9:30am. Please assemble at church. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
