J.B. was born on July 31, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to parents Joe and Gladys (Sheppard) Scrivner and entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2015 at the age of 88. J. B. served in The United States Navy where he was known as “Scrappy” and fought in the Golden Gloves. He was a welder by trade and also enjoyed masonry work. J. B. was “one of a kind”, he talked to everyone, helped anyone, never met a stranger and loved to read his Reader’s Digest magazines. He was called Pepaw by his grand-kids and will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
J. B. was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters; Maegan Scrivner and Christina Stine, sister, Laura Dean Scrivner, brothers; Jack and Billy Ray Scrivner.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Ellen, sons; Joe Scrivner, Ronnie Scrivner and wife Sheila, Michael Scrivner, Johnny Scrivner, daughter Jewell Scrivner, sister Mary Sue Rich and husband Pete, step-brother Lewis Stephens, step-sister Ruby Roberts, nephew Jack Scrivner and wife Lisa, 7 grandkids, 10 great-grandkids, a host of extended family and friends.
