Mrs. Helen Doss

Services for Mrs. Nancy Helen Doss were held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home in Kemp, Texas with Bill Robinson and Tim Stevens from the Church of Christ, Kemp officiating. Interment followed at Kemp City Cemetery.

Mrs. Nancy Helen Doss was born April 15, 1931 in Styx, Texas to parents Linton Ferrell and Blanch (Barnes) Elston and entered eternal rest on March 9, 2019 at the age of 87. Helen attended Kemp High School, graduating with the Class of 1948. She went on to Neilson Beauty College in Dallas, graduating in 1949, married the love of her life Charlie Doss on December 29,1949, began her career as a beautician in Kemp, and a housewife who treasured raising her children. Helen enjoyed fishing with Charlie and cherished the 66 years of their marriage. She was a great cook and loved baking wedding and birthday cakes. The Kemp Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school and a Ladies Bible Class held a special place in her heart. Helen was an amazing woman with a giving heart who most of all wanted to be a blessing to others.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Charlie, grandson Jeremy Doss, daughter Carolyn Franklin, brother Joe Elston and daughter-in-law Lisa Doss.

She is survived by her son Doug Doss of Kaufman; five grandchildren Jennifer Watts and Brad, Stacy Turkoly and David, Carrie Jones and Matt, Daisy Cromer, Trey Doss and wife Haley; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson born only 3 weeks ago, son-in-law Strike Franklin of Sanger, nephew Dan Doss and Maureen, niece Alexis Montiel and Sergio, numerous other loving relatives and many dear friends.
