Mrs. Betty Jane Atherton

Betty Jane Atherton was born August 15, 1931 in Styx, Henderson County, Texas to parents: Walter Wiley Hutcheson and Mary Bell (Workman). Betty was a Master without a certificate in Gardening. She loved working in her yard where she grew vegetables and had fruit trees. The onions were so plentiful they had them at every meal. Betty was a very loving, giving person, she especially loved giving from her garden. She also taught a Bible Class at the Kemp Church of Christ in Kemp. Betty will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

Betty is preceded in death by: her parents; husband Frank Atherton; brother Tom Hutcheson and sister Mary McFaul.

She is survived by: son Lynn Atherton of Dallas; niece June Gilbert and spouse Jerry of Kemp; great nephews: Matthew Gilbert and spouse Sairi of Kemp; Jacob Gilbert and Tyler Gilbert of Kemp; sister-in-law Norma Hutcheson of Kemp; niece Cindy Svoda and spouse Johnny of Kemp; great-nephew Bryan Svoda and spouse Charree' of Houston; great-great nephews: Titus-Oak Svoda and Cyrus-Bodark Svoda of Houston.
