Willard Guy Johnson passed away with family by his side on June 23, 2021, at the age of 77.
Born in Nelson, BC, Willard spent most of his life growing up and living in Kelowna. Willard stared out as a stucco and plasterer in the mid 60’s and then changed to drywall starting Johnson Drywall. Dad was never afraid to tackle any job to help the family, from concrete work, small plumbing jobs, building houses, a motel in Fort Nelson, even getting his small engine mechanics certificate and working with his older brother Dale at DJ mowers, but he always come back to the job he loved, Drywall. Dad was introduced to woodwork at a young age by his older brother and best friend Buck, together in a workshop in Buck’s basement they enjoyed the same hobby and created many pieces of furniture, tables, gun cabinets and much more. In his retirement years he enjoyed working in his own hobby shop, building wood excavators, bulldozers, bobcats, graders, dump trucks and scrolling pictures that may friends and family have.
Willard is survived by his wife of 54 years Clarice, his three sons Neil, Stacy, Darcy (Christine) and his two grandchildren Daxton and Tamzin. Willard will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Willard was predeceased by his parents (Leland and Hazel) and his three brothers Harvey, Buck and Dale and recently predeceased by his favourite Uncle Don Hickson.
