Eileen moved to England with her family as an infant, returning to Canada after the end of the war. The family settled in Lloydminster where she met and married Hans Christiansen. Together they raised their three children, Kris (Susan), Peter(Linda), and Karen(Jerry Redman). Eileen took great joy in her role as a grandmother to Michael Reay, Kalen Christiansen, Brie Anne Christiansen and Katharina Christiansen Richard (Paul). She also delighted in her young great grandson Jaxton Richard. Eileen was a kind and loving friend to many, including her special friends Lori Mullin and Ken Miller.
Eileen’s working life began as a dental assistant and continued in the retail world. While she enjoyed her career working life she shone as a dedicated volunteer both with the Community Policing organization and as a Red Coat with Kelowna Airport Ambassadors, both roles bringing her immense fulfillment.
Eileen cherished her time at the Sandalwood community where she enjoyed many friendships and participating in the choir and the chair yoga lessons. As well as her favorite meal of roast beef and mashed potatoes, Eileen could occasionally be convinced to enjoy a gin and tonic, which she savored with family and good friends.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Hans, her son Peter Christiansen and her son in law Gordon Maclean.
Eileen’s legacy of love, service and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
