Ron was a good friend to my parents, Peter and Eila Robinson. So much that he became my God Father. I was young, when I last seen him. And remember him to be funny guy...Rest In Peace Ron.

I just want to say condolences to the family. Ron was my husbands auto mechanic teacher in highschool. May he rest in peace.

A sad day for all. "Uncle Ron" was among my earliest mentors, having been part of my fathers (Don Whalley) hunting group of friends, along with Reino Niemi, Matt Vukovich, and the Pierce brothers. Many weekends of my youth were spent moose hunting in Black Sturgeon at Sun Down camp #2, near Shillabeer Lake, and the first moose I ever got a shot at was chased out by Ron and my dad.

As a mechanic, Ron was forever tinkering with someones vehicle, usually while giving a play by play to we kids while wrenching away. He was a truly funny guy, with a knack for telling a story and, as a teenager, I can recall laughing til my sides hurt at some of his tales. Amongst the mirth, Ron would also pass on the occasional pearl of wisdom which I have retained to this day, and he certainly had a good bead on how to live a full life.

Even though separated by distance for the last 28 years, we were able to keep in touch by e.mail, swapping a few hunting or fishing pictures from time to time and keeping up with the goings on. I know he certainly enjoyed his time in the west, where he was able to spend his retirement years.

I guess I now know why I haven't heard from him for some time, but I know that the old gang has been waiting for him. Early tomorrow morning, they will be pulling on their boots and heading out together.

So, I wish you 'Good snow for tracking, and a stiff wind when the mallards are flying'.Shoot straight, and I'll see you again, one day.

I am sorry to hear of Ron's passage.  Ron was in so many ways a mentor to me at Lakeview High School in the '80s.  A fine man.

Our condolences to Annette and family. We only got to know Ron in the last few years when they would come back to Dog Lake to visit. It was always a great time full of laughs and talking about previous years Hunting and fishing.
