Melissa Caroline Schmidt

Age 42 (1979-2021)

With a blue sky and late afternoon sun shining warmly outside her window, birds at the feeder scattering seed to the family of mice below, and butterflies fluttering by... Melissa released her last breath, an easy letting go, a peaceful look on her face. Gone from this life, this world, but forever in this universe... She went with love and will be missed by all she knew. It was 6:14 pm - June 12th, with her daughter Aimee, and her mother Lois holding her hands. Gone from life's struggles to a better place… until we meet again.

Sadly preceded in death by her son Austin.

Left not to mourn but with memories to treasure - Darrin Gorham; daughter Aimee (Jesse), grandson Evan; son Daniel (Michaela), granddaughter Waverly; also survived by parents Lois, Mark; brother Jeremy (Audrey) and family; brother Spencer and family; birth parents Annette, Tony, and many more family members, and so many friends made along her journey through life.

Special thanks to all at Hospice House, Kelowna who were so kind and caring. Such a beautiful place to live out life's end, quietly, peacefully.
