Marilyn was born on January 24, 1942, in Moncton, New Brunswick. She moved to Prince Rupert in 1960 where she met and married Allan (Al) Majore. They spent 16 years together in Prince Rupert where they started their family. Marilyn and Al eventually settled in Kelowna, British Columbia in 1976, where they built a life filled with love, joy, and countless cherished memories. Marilyn was the devoted wife of Allan Majore for 61 years and the proud mother of two children: Angela MacNaughton (partner Mate) and Robert Majore (wife Melanie).
Marilyn adored her five grandchildren, Brianna (Brad), Joseph (Andrea), Brandon (Bobbie), and Charolette, and was thrilled to welcome her four great-grandchildren, Lachlan, Oliver, Ruby and Mackenzie into the world. Her family was her greatest source of happiness and joy.
Marilyn's pursuit of knowledge led her to obtain her Registered Nursing diploma, from the Okanagan College in 1983. She dedicated 20 years of her professional career at Kelowna General Hospital, leaving a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Marilyn had a zest for life and a diverse range of interests. She reveled in singing and playing keyboard with the family band, Pure Gold, gracefully expressing her passion for teaching line dancing, water aerobics, and finding delight in her daily walks with her husband, Al.
A private cremation through First Memorial Funeral Services has taken place to honour Marilyn's wishes, with a memorial service to be announced later in the Spring. Marilyn touched the lives of many through her kindness, grace, and vitality. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
