I met Mary at the Wedgewood, playing cards. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. 
Such a Nice person! She would walk & walk up and down the halls, over to the store, around the block- day in and day out. If only I had her determination. Many a time I'd see her laughing in the halls with many of her friends. She is missed. 

Auntie Mary was like a second mom to me.   She had words of wisdom, and very understanding and uplifting when things weren't going the way they should.  I have lots of memories and will treasure them forever.  She is missed so very much.

I met Mary when I was a child. She was my mom's best friend. I loved being with the two of them. In her presence, my mom lit up within and was always so happy! 
When I was a teenager, Mary worked in a women's clothing store and she ALWAYS had great fashion sense and knew how to put an outfit together. She would put clothes away for me to try on. She found the most beautiful dresses for me. I loved her with all of my heart. She and I shared a birthday month, August, and she and I would often have a telephone visit on her birthday and she would send me a card on mine. She will live in my heart forever.  

My second mother- my friend. Mrs Fridman (I could never stop calling her that) nurtured and
loved me as a daughter from 16 years of age when I left the farm and stayed with the Fridman family.  She lives on in my memory as a wonderful soul who supported and counselled me, helped me find my first job, made excuses for my boss as to why I could not go to work, who tolerated Janet’s and my shenanigans,  who never forgot to send me a birthday card even when I was off on a new adventure , and truly loved me unconditionally for 56 years. She is and will always be my hero. RIP - you were a star!

I will miss my dear cousin Mary and her ever ready smile.  She was always there if you needed her.  She was warm, welcoming, and always there with a listening ear and helpful advice.  I will miss having someone to reminisce with about our years growing up and recalling memories that only she would remember:  our little old log house, the outhouse equipped with a catalogue (instead of toilet paper), the snow drifts we walked through on our way to school with our frozen blueberry sandwiches, the huge gardens we had to hoe, her brother Orest (my hero & protector), picking roots, pulling thistle weeds in the fields and preparing for the threshers to come etc, etc.  I will miss you so much dear Mary.  


My Auntie was a Kind, Generous and most of all Very Loving. She was very soft spoken and gentle. I could talk to her more about alot if things. Aunty, I'm going to miss you although the miles have kept us apart, you are Always and Forever Will Be A Big Piece of My Heart. May you rest in peace Aunty, Give Uncle Jack a big hug and have a great time dancing once again. I Love you Aunty🙏😥🥰

I, as well lived with Aunty Mary in Edmonton for a year or so. She was so great! Her ability to make me feel welcomed, loved and important was life changing. After I was married, my husband said he would trade all his aunties for my one Aunty Mary. She had such a zest for life, such a positive attitude and had the warmest brown eyes that always showed her humor and compassion.
She will be missed and always thought of with love.

Back in late August 1970, I spent my first two weeks in Canada under Mary’s roof. She became my first Canadian “mum” and took care of this young fellow from England as he was about to embark on a new, life changing adventure. In recent years, we’ve been long-distance pals, but that was fine. Whenever we spoke it was if no time had passed us by at all. Thanks, Mary, for all the chats and advice. And now, as you embark on your life-after-life adventure, I’d like to wish you God speed, and hope you experience nothing but wondrous things wherever you journey. Always in my heart.

We were so saddened to hear of Mary's passing, but joyful in the knowledge of her eternal destination.  What I loved about Mary was how she leaned in and looked deeply into your eyes when she spoke with you.  Sometimes it was accompanied by a twinkle of her eye and a witticism, at other times, something intense and profound.  She always took a sincere interest in you and gave you her undivided attention, as if no one else was more important or present.  Her intensity and laughter always filled the room. Mary was a second Mom when I moved from home to the big city. She was kind, caring, intuitive and provided me with a safe home away from home. I would wake her up after a date to tell her all about it!! (I think I might have aged her). 💞 She knew when I needed a hug. 
She was full of life and a very caring, loving lady. 
My sister Louise and I were fortunate to see her few a couple of days this fall and it was like old times. 
I’m sending big hugs to Louise, Elaine and Janet and family. She will forever be in your hearts. Cherish the memories. 💓💓
