GREENE: Lorraine , 80, passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital on September 29, 2016. Lorraine was born May 25, 1936 in D’Arcy, Saskatchewan. She graduated from the School of Nursing at the Vancouver General Hospital in 1957. Over the next 35 years, Lorraine worked as a registered nurse in various places such as San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, Calgary and Kelowna. Lorraine’s greatest passion was music. She was part of a singing quartet for many years. She was an avid piano player and spent many hours at the piano. She performed in a family band with her husband Mervyn, sister Maxine and brother-in-law Dick, where they entertained and played for others at seniors’ homes and various functions. Lorraine is predeceased by her mother and step-father, Pearl and Lemuel Sadler, brother Cameron MacDonald and sister Karen Simmons. She is survived by her loving husband, Mervyn Greene, her son Cameron McInnis (Tina) and grandchildren Jordan and Tara, and also by her daughter Carla Dufort (Gilles) and grandson Noah. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Gunoff (Richard) and step-brother Warren Sadler (Shirley). She will be missed terribly by her family. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna.
