Judith Roberta Swain, (nee Barron) passed away peacefully at Cottonwoods Care Centre in Kelowna, BC on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age of 78 years. She was born March 1, 1943 at Estevan, Saskatchewan and grew up on a small farm near Barwick, Ontario.
She graduated high school at Fort Frances, Ontario and went on to become a registered nurse in 1964, graduating from Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. She nursed in Brandon, MB and southern Ontario before moving to Fort St. John, BC.
She married Ed Swain in Fort St John, BC on March 1, 1969. She continued her nursing career in many communities to include Fort St John, Prince George, Kaslo, Nelson, Sparwood and McBride, Creston BC, retiring in Creston BC in 1997.
Judy loved her fur babies, reading books, gardening, camping, sewing and creating needlepoint masterpieces. She loved a hot cup of black tea and a good book!
She was predeceased by her parents Roy Barron (1997) and Jean (Armstrong) Barron (2001) , brother-in-law: Ernie Dooley in 2016. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 52 years, Ed Swain of Kelowna, BC, her two brothers Rick, Michael (Karen) of Cranbrook, BC, two sisters Sandra (Christopher) Dauphinais, Cheryl Dooley of Brandon, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life via Zoom, September 10, 2021 at 2:00pm. For those wishing to attend, please provide Ed with an email address and an invitation will be sent.
Family and friends wishing to make a memorial tribute may make it to a charity of choice.
