It is with great sadness and much love that we said goodbye to our beloved Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, George Kozub, who passed away peacefully at the Vernon Hospice on Nov. 7, 2024 at the age of 94.
On June 26, 1930 George was born to Nicholas and Pawlyna Kozub in Springside, Saskatchewan and moved to Armstrong in 1936 with his family. On December 25, 1949 he met the love of his life, soul mate and best friend, Lucille St. Amand in Kelowna at a dance.
George is survived by his brother Ted and his children David (Joy), Bill, Gary (Reinhild), Steven, Nadine, Elizabeth and special daughter in law Doreen.
He will be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren: Nicholas, Monique, George, Sherilyn, Jerremy, Steven, Troy, Christopher, Kyle, Jamie, Tina, Lisa, Selina, Theresa and Tyler.
He will be forever remembered by his 14 Great Grandchildren: Noah, Emma, Lee, Zoe, Lyn, Gypsy, Apollo, Jaymz, Taylor, Charlie, Mya, Damian and Alina.
George was blessed with many friends that he gained from his life dedication to volunteering. He was involved in the Fish and Game Club, Citizen’s Patrol and anywhere else he was needed in the community that he and his family called home. He was also well known for his column with the local newspaper, “Musing by Ole George”, which he wrote for well over a decade.
A celebration of life will be held at the Oceola Fish & Game Club, 11888 McGowan Road, Lake Country on Nov. 30, 2024 from 1 - 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may donate to the Kelowna Cancer Clinic in the name of Lucille Kozub –his lasting tribute to the love of his life he’s now joined.
