OSBORN: Gail Caroline. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Gail Caroline Osborn on November 15, 2021 at Kelowna General Hospital surrounded by her family who were misbehaving around her as usual.
She was born and raised in Winnipeg MB on February 19, 1944. Gail and her family moved to Kelowna, BC in 1974.
She enjoyed many years as a mother and homemaker before re-entering the workforce at Kelowna General Hospital in 1978, originally in the Patient Registration/Admitting dept.; transferring to Financial Services until her retirement from Interior Health with 28 years of service.
Her love of travel and exploring took her and Don on many adventures including across Canada, the Western States to visit family, Vancouver Island BC for winter storm watching and Quebec City. She loved attending live performances and attended numerous concerts both locally and on her travels. Over the last few years Gail and Don enjoyed many day adventures traveling through the Okanagan Valley.
Over the years she was involved with many organizations including the Rutland Kinettes and later the K-40 Club of Rutland. She spent many years involved with Bethel #25, Kelowna, of the International Order of Jobs Daughters with both of her daughters. She was involved with Girl Guides of Canada locally for a number of years.
In her retirement she loved to attend aquafit at Kelowna Family Y. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and loved to entertain. Family & friend dinners brought her hours of enjoyment in both the planning and event, no matter how big or small.
She is survived by her loving husband Don, her brothers, Richard Collins and David Collins. Her children, Lori Jakins (Clark Yarrow), Scott Osborn (Kathleen ), Steven Osborn (Leslie ), Christine Scott (Brent ). We will miss her loving smile, sense of humour and her empathic ear. Our family dinners will never be the same without our favorite chef & baker.
Gail will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be planned in spring 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the KGH Foundation.
