ANDERSON: Edgar Charles. It is with great sadness that on January 5th, 2024 surrounded by family, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Dad, Grampa, Great Grampa, Edgar Charles Anderson. Predeceased by his wife Anne Anderson, nine siblings and his precious great grandson Elias.
Ed Anderson has left behind his four children Dave (Linda) Anderson, Ken (Lauren) Anderson, Randy (Corinne) Anderson, Carol (Al). Seven grandchildren Jennie Anderson, Kristen (Matt) King, Lindi Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Teri-Lynn Anderson, Ryan(Taylor) and Amanda, five great grandchildren Morgan and Connor Anderson, Quintin and Mykaela King and Isla.
Edgar Charles Anderson was born March 8, 1932 in Spiritwood Saskatchewan to Laura and Charles Anderson. Ed moved to Manning Park in his young adult years to work for the forestry. It is here he met his future wife Anne Sandheim. On April 11, 1953, Ed and Anne were married. In time, they moved to Ocean Falls where Ed worked for the pulp mill. Here they started their family. After a few years they moved to Woodfibre where he worked at the pulp mill, eventually moved to Squamish and a family of four grew to a family of six.
In 1970 Ed and family moved to Kelowna. Ed worked for Hiram Walker for 5 years, and then in 1975 started working at Crown Zellerbach until his retirement in 1997. Over the years, Ed was involved with square dancing, bowling, becoming a Cub Scout leader and enjoying his family.
On November 11, 1989 Ed married his second wife Shirley Taylor, during Ed’s years spent with Shirley he enjoyed golfing, took some memorable trips with family such as Disneyland, Alaska, Nashville and name a few. Ed also was a huge Kelowna Rockets fan. He enjoyed many games with his family, even during his final days when Ed was told the Rockets won he lighted up with a smile.
His wife Shirley predeceased Ed and he left behind three stepchildren John (Pat) Taylor, Debbie (Russ) Gilchrist, Mike (Sue) Taylor and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The last few years Ed enjoyed calling Bingo and playing crib and spending time with his companion Irene Clarke.
RIP Dad, we will miss you very much. Until we meet again.
