Dorothy was born in England on May 27, 1927. She passed away in West Kelowna, with family
at her side, on June 14, 2024.
Dorothy (Dee) was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Russ in 2002. She will be
lovingly remembered by her three children: Lori (Murray), Gordon (Cathy), Cathy, (former
spouse Don) her 11 wonderful grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who brought such joy
to her life .
Dee witnessed many changes in the world over her 97 years. She would tell interesting stories
about growing up in wartime England. She adapted to changing technology and was still texting
at age 97!
Dee lived for 66 years in the Kelowna area. Her secretarial training afforded her many
interesting jobs including at Mt Boucherie Secondary with School District 23. Over the years
she was involved in a number of community theatre productions, was a long standing volunteer
at Cottonwoods and KGH, with the Lions Club, and Meals on Wheels.
Dee was known to be the life of the party and game for almost anything. She was a great
dancer and tennis player, but not so great a golfer. A very good writer, Dee was always keeping
in touch with her “epistles”.
Dee loved a well brewed cup of tea, the Royal family, knitting dish cloths, making photo cards,
A&W burgers, Butchart Gardens, Okanagan sunshine, but most of all, she loved her family. We
will so miss her sense of fun, generosity, and thoughtfulness. And her determination and
stoicism were legendary.
Our family would like to thank the caring staff at Village at Smith Creek for their support.
In lieu of flowers, donations to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Dee’s life will be arranged at a later date.
You will always be in our hearts. Rest easy, Nana Banana
