Dorothy was lovingly known to her family as Nana. She loved Jesus, playing the piano, gardening and sports, especially following her favorite ones; hockey (Canucks), curling and baseball (Blue Jays).
Nana was born July 12, 1919, on a family farm in Saskatchewan. She was the 12th child of 13 born to Jacob and Alice Clearwater.
In 1939, she met and married the love of her life, Gerry Palmer (passed away in 1978). They both had a love of music and played for local dances and community events in their small town. They had two children, David (Ghyslaine) and Patricia (Gene – passed away in 2003). She also had five grandchildren, Perry (Cathie), Jill, Curtis (Joyce), Cheryl (Clayton) and Chad (Anita). She was also blessed with nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She truly loved her family and kept them all covered in prayer. Nana was very special to each of her family members and dearly loved.
Nana believed being grateful in life was so important. The family would like to give a huge thank you to the Central Okanagan Hospice House team for all of their care, love and support. And thank you as well to the Emergency Department at Kelowna General Hospital.
