It is with great sadness we announce the passing of mom on June 1, 2019, at the age of 90. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Lee in 2002, and by her sisters: Blanche, Florence and Mabel. Mom will be lovingly remembered by son Ken (Judy-Anne) and daughter Deb (Ethan); sister Amy (Frank) Schleppe; her grandchildren: Bernard Fraser (Rae-Lynn), Michael Blacke, Matthew Blacke, Renee Blacke (Clinton), Ken Ritchie, Melissa Wilson, Ryan Wilson (Amanda), great grandchildren: Hunter and Ronin Fraser and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born Sept. 17, 1928 in R.M. of Hillsburg, Roblin, Manitoba. The family moved to Kelowna when mom was fourteen years old. Mom attended K.S.S. Around the age of eighteen, mom met dad and it must have been love at first sight. They loved each other dearly and spent many great years together. Mom worked at B.C. Fruit Packers for many years. She kept herself active enjoying bowling, curling and golf. As a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, mom volunteered for many events. Mom’s volunteer work included the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Mom will be greatly missed and loved forever. Memorial service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Inurnment to be held at a later date.
