After a very long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Bruno passed away on December 3, 2010, surrounded by his family. Born September 7th, 1942 in Castlenuovo, Italy, Bruno immigrated to Canada as a teenager. He was an outstanding athlete, twice winning the Kalamalka Lake Swim and the Across the Lake Swim several times. He could be found on the golf course in the summer and on the slopes of Big White in the winter. He was a very talented artist and a successful businessman owning and operating Bruno Guidi Concrete Finishing for many years. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Carmelle (Rob Swan) and son Craig (Natasha) and grandsons Ivo and Enzo, as well as his brother Robert (Audrey), all of Kelowna. He also leaves a son, Tony (Nicole) of Kamloops. Many thanks to the Ellison wing at Sun Pointe Village, Brook Haven Care Centre, Dr. Crittenden and Fred Gubbels for their loving care. A Memorial service will be held at Valleyview Funeral Home, 165 Valleyview Road on Thursday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Bruno may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 865 Bernard Avenue Kelowna, BC V1Y 6P6.
