WILSON – It is with sorrow that the family of Agnes May Wilson (nee Vancamp) announces her passing away in Kelowna on August 14, 2010. Agnes has reunited with her husband, Bill (deceased 1972), her youngest son, George (deceased 2004) and grandson, Blaine Aitken (deceased 1984). Agnes was born in 1912 in Vancouver, the only child of Absolam and Bertha Vancamp. Agnes moved with her parents to the Whitelaw area in 1927. She attended school in both Whitelaw and Peace River. She caught the eye of a young Bill Wilson, a garage owner, and they were married in 1931. In 1937, Agnes and Bill, along with their now three young children, started farming in the Whitelaw area. After retirement in 1962, Bill and Agnes relocated to the Kelowna area and she remained there even after Bill’s death. Agnes continued her love of family, traveling, good friends, card games and scrabble. Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her large family. She leaves behind her son, Douglas (Estella) Wilson of Whitelaw, her daughter, Joan (Jim) Aitken of Kelowna, sister-in-law, Mary Wilson of Fairview, nine grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. As Agnes has requested, there will be no funeral service. She is to be cremated and have her ashes spread beside her husband.
