Robert Joseph Long, Sr.

Robert Joseph Long,Sr., 76, was born on October 21,1946 in Dallas, Texas to Sammy Carl Long Sr. and Rosie Long Ewing. He was the 4th of 7 children. He passed away December 12, 2022 in Graham, Texas from lymphoma. Robert married Patricia Holden Long of Seymour, Texas on December 31, 1969. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was very proud of his family’s legacy of service to our country. He retired after 30 years from General Motors in Arlington, TX. His favorite time of the year was hunting season, taking trips with his sons, grandsons, family, friends and his mules, Pat and Bandy, who he's had for over 30 years, to Colorado. His dream was to own land he could hunt on and he found the perfect spot on 60 acres in Jacksboro, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy Carl Long Sr. and Rosie Long Ewing; three siblings, Sammy Carl Long Jr., Carolyn Hines and Bill Long.

Robert is survived by: wife, of almost 53 years, Patricia; his siblings Ronnie and Lorey Long of Graham,TX., Ken and Cheryl Needham of Canton, TX., Olan and Deborah Harley of Mabank, TX

Four Children: Robert Jr. and Valerie Long of Leonard, TX., Bo and Sherri Kiser of Little Elm, TX., John and Brandee Stacy of Keller, TX., Richard and Robbi Long of Holliday, TX

Papa to Fourteen Grandchildren: Robert J. Long III, Kolt Allan Long, Ty Pepper Long, Riggin Spencer, Mitchell Clouden, Jacob Clouden, Jeff Hillary, Dallin and Britnee Slade, Kirill and Brooke Doronin, John Christian Stacy Jr., Charles Hunter Stacy, Brayden Wymer, Taylor Long and Baylea Long

Two Great - Grandchildren: Charlie Clouden and James Clouden; Many nieces and nephews.

He was someone who valued his family, military, family history, hunting, fishing, good country music and most things we take for granted. He loved his garden, and most of all dancing with Miss Patricia. You could find him enjoying lifelong friendships or talking with an elderly person he just met. He never met a stranger. Our life will be forever changed without him but he left an impression that will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Pkwy, Keller, TX 76248.
