Rhett Edward Taylor, 42, passed away on July 4, 2024. He was born on August 5, 1981 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Rhett is survived by his daughters Camie and Chloe Taylor who he loved dearly, mother Estella Celeste Churchill, and younger brother Winston Deburgh Taylor.
Rhett was preceded by his younger brother, Geoffrey Kent Gruenewald Jr., who passed away in March of 2021. As a child, Rhett loved to read books especially “The Hardy Boys,” play his alto saxophone, draw comic books, and playing baseball.
As an adult, Rhett served honorably in the Navy and the Navy Reserve for four years each as well as the Army for three years and seven months. While in the Navy, Rhett met lifelong friends like Phillip Debarge, who he considered family. After serving in the military, Rhett moved to Frisco, TX with his family to attend college, pursue a career in IT, and took on the responsibility of raising his twin daughters, Camie and Chloe, at a young age.
After college, Rhett’s dedication led him to positions at CBRE and Google. He worked for Google as a logistics program manager. Rhett particularly enjoyed traveling with colleagues and challenging himself with new projects. In his free time, he even began pilot training to pursue his dream of flying helicopters one day. Rhett eventually wanted to retire and charter people back and forth from Miami to the Keys. Rhett truly loved the beach and people.
Rhett’s proudest moments were watching his two twin daughters grow up to be amazing women. If you knew Rhett, then you knew about the twins. His daughters are proud to call him their father, forever cherishing his work ethic, caring heart, selflessness and integrity.
Rhett was a modern-day Renaissance man, an incredible human being who loved everyone and lived his life to the fullest.
