John Thomas Hunt JR, aged 76, passed away on December 2nd, 2023, surrounded by loved ones, leaving a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on February 19th, 1947, John was a Texas native, a devoted family man, and a symbol of strength to all who knew him. He dedicated his life to fostering love, support and understanding, to those around him. A loving husband, John shared 54 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Melanie. Together, they built a foundation of love, support, and shared memories that will endure through generations.
As a father, John was a source of inspiration and guidance to his daughter, Michele. His unwavering commitment to her well-being and success was evident in the values he instilled and the sacrifices he made to ensure a bright future for his family.
Professionally, John had a successful career in publishing and real estate, where his dedication to excellence and his strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues.
In the community, John was known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He actively participated in habitat for Humanity and the construction of Johnson Road Park. During his time as president of the Southlake Kiwanis club, John made a positive impact on many lives.
John was an avid reader who had a zest for life and adventure that manifested in his hobbies and interests, including Travel, History, Music, and Painting. Whether spending time with family, pursuing his passions, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie Hunt; his daughter, Michele Miller; grandchildren, Hayden Hunt, and Tommy Litchfield; and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
May John's soul rest in peace, and may his memory continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Thomas Hunt Jr. will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 9th at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas.
